Puppet Wrangling Workshop with Gavin Glover

A crash course for grown ups where we will do wild and bizarre things - with puppets!

Run by theatre maker Gavin Glover, this will be a new and irreverent approach to puppet theatre and manipulation inspired by absurdist storytellers such as Kafka, Lynch and Beckett.

Suitable for all professionals working in performance, physical theatre, acting, clowning and of course puppeteers.

Gavin has always worked in the more mysterious side of contemporary puppet theatre, originally touring a deliciously dark style of work with the cult theatre company Faulty Optic. More recently he has 'trained' ghosts for the National Theatre of Scotland, 'tamed' foul-mouthed pterodactyls for the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow and 'encouraged' drunken bar fights at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. He also makes little movies and regularly teaches micro cinema film making techniques to other makers of film and theatre.

In this very practical performance workshop you will work individually and in groups to improvise with and without puppets.

Please wear suitable clothing for stage movement.

Please bring a packed lunch. There will be tea and coffee available!

Please let us know if you would not like to be photographed in advance, thanks.
